Yu Wen Acupuncture ClinicThe Yu Wen Clinic is a vital part of the Acupuncture Program, as it trains student practitioners in the art of acupuncture and makes this healing modality available to a greater number of people in our community. (Read a report on acupuncture's therapeutic effects.) The clinic is named for Yu Wen, an 86th generation Taoist priest from the Jade Purity Sect, who was a teacher and the grandfather of Jeffrey C. Yuen, Dean for Academic Affairs. Living a life that spanned over a century, Yu Wen was knowledgeable in the many modalities of Oriental healing. Yet, he felt that the most important aspect of healing was the patient's ability and willingness to cultivate being present in the moment. Our clinic is named after Yu Wen, and honors his teaching that the acupuncturist is there to assist people in unraveling their hearts, so they can see themselves in the light of their own truth.
