License Information

Acupuncture and massage therapy are both license protected practices in New York State. Any use of the title acupuncturist or massage therapist within New York State requires licensure by the Office of the Professions. The practice of any profession which is under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Professions is a criminal act punishable as a Class E Felony.

Graduates of the Acupuncture Program and the Massage Therapy Program at the Swedish Institute are eligible for New York State licensure, provided they meet all other requirements.
