Financial Aid

Swedish Institute participates in many kinds of programs that help students pay for their tuition.

Loans and grants

Federal and state financial aid are available. Prospective students should apply for financial aid when they apply for the program, so that financial aid can be awarded at the time of admission. The only form Swedish Institute requires students to complete in order to apply for financial aid is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students can complete this form online at www.fafsa.ed.gov or get a form from the Reception Desk. Be sure to use our federal school code of 016904 in Step 6 of the form.

Federal and state aid includes:

  • Pell Grant

  • Subsidized Stafford Loan

  • Unsubsidized Stafford Loan

  • Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS)

  • TAP (New York State Tuition Assistance Program)

Monthly Payment Plan

A monthly payment plan can be arranged at registration.

 


Scholarships

Students enrolled in the Massage Therapy Program are eligible to apply for one of the three scholarships that honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the fields of massage therapy and education.

  • Patricia J. Eckardt Scholarship Fund

  • Honors former President and Director of the Institute, Patricia J. Eckardt, who devoted more than thirty years of her life to the school and the profession of massage therapy.

  • Richard G. Gilbert Scholarship Fund

  • Honors Richard G. Gilbert, who worked tirelessly for more than forty years in education, and was a friend and benefactor of Swedish Institute.

  • Jennifer A. Plumhoff Scholarship Fund

  • A long-time faculty member who was instrumental in developing our Offsite Internship Program, Jennifer Plumhoff was an advocate for making the benefits of massage therapy available to all members of the community.

Swedish Institute also participates in the following tuition assistance programs:
