Lessons from research will help us to…lay the foundations for a new type of treatment, whose essence is to combat disease by strengthening the body's own defenses against stress.

Research

The remarkable increase in use of complementary and alternative health care has led to unprecedented funding for research in these therapies, including acupuncture and massage therapy. Scientific inquiry into these fields will help shape the future practice of these professions, as health-care options expand to include dynamic new perspectives of the human body.

As an Institute, we are fully committed to both the legacy of the therapies we teach, as well as to their evolution into the future. We endeavor to do so in a way that is as responsible as it is pioneering.

Our programs in acupuncture, massage therapy, and personal training are all founded in historical development, yet are continually refined as modern insights lead to new considerations. By being open to change, these traditions – and the bodies of knowledge they represent – remain truly alive.
