"The Cultural Creatives care deeply about ecology and saving the planet, about relationships, peace, social justice, and about self actualization, spirituality and self-expression... If they could see how promising this creativity is for all of us…these optimistic, altruistic millions might be willing to speak more frankly in public settings and act more directly in shaping a new way of life for our time and the time ahead. They might lead the way toward an Integral Culture."

The Cultural Creatives: How 50 Million People are Changing the World, by Paul H. Ray, PhD and Sherry R. Anderson, PhD

Times of Celebration

The Swedish Institute, in its typically unique style, recently observed the graduation of students from the Acupuncture Program as well as the Massage Therapy Program. Graduates, who had completed their studies in December, happily gathered with relatives and friends to celebrate in late January.

The speakers at both celebrations reflected the creative spirit so common in the Swedish Institute community. Their talks, presented below with their permission, give voice to the heart of many of the students and teachers.

Those resounding sounds will be heard by each of us, the practitioners, as we practice our craft in the years to come. Read more.

When the revolution comes... you will change the world. Students who have been in the classroom with me know that at times I am prone to taking a pause, looking at them and saying, "When the revolution comes..." Read more.

First, on behalf of all of us, I would like to give thanks to all of our teachers, without whom the classes would have been very awkward. Thanks to all of you for making it so much more fun to watch TV shows like 'House' and 'ER', now that we know the medical lingo. Read more.
